Shannon’s Princess Birthday

Our sweet Shannon is five! She had a spectacular Princess birthday party with all of her school friends and our family. We ordered a big castle bounce house for the party with a slide and set it up the day before the party. My dad helped us with the bounce house set up, my mom made her cupcakes and cake, and I got all of the decor and details prepared!

I let her go to Carters the day before to pick out her birthday outfit. She put together the most perfect outfit all by herself for her big princess party.

The cupcakes my mom made were the CUTEST! High heel cupcakes! She made blue ones and pink ones. I cannot even tell you how many hours it took her to put these together.

Just perfection.

My mom even made her castle cake! Look at that Rapunzel tower!

I set up the tables outside. I put all of the things that the kids could use to dress up on one table, and the favors on another table.

Princess “jewels” - candy bracelets
“Chews” your happily ever after - bubblegum
Sleeping Beauty’s “pillows” - marshmallows
“Bibbity Bobbity Boo wands” - chocolate dipped pretzels with sprinkles
“Frog Princes” - bathtub frogs
True loves “kiss” - Hershey kisses

Cinderella’s “carriages” - clementines with celery
Olaf’s “noses” - carrots with dip
Ariel’s “fish friends” - gold fish crackers

Last but certainly not least, how INCREDIBLE is this lemonade stand that my dad made for Shannon for her birthday. He even got her a banner that says LEMONADE in pink letters and a little chalkboard sign to write on.

This was her big gift from Chris, Savannah, and I. A pink bike all complete with a bell, basket, and a unicorn helmet. She rides it all the time and absolutely loves it.

This girl had a great princess birthday. I can’t thank our friends and family enough for coming out to celebrate and for making her feel so special!

Wrapping up Summer

We enjoyed having family time.

We had a fantastic summer!

We read some great summer books.

I went on some amazing dates with my main squeeze.

Shannon finished Pre-k 4!

We had a blast at the Erie County Fair.

We ate enough ice cream to last us a LONG time.

And we soaked up all the sun we could by the pool.

We can't wait to see what Summer 2019 brings!

Savannah’s 2nd Birthday

It was Savannah Marie's second birthday and we partied our little hearts out at Kelkenberg Farm. Just as a side note, if you live in the Buffalo area, this is a FANTASTIC place to have a birthday party. A birthday package includes a tour of the farm, pony rides for the kids, a horse drawn hay ride to the sunflower or pumpkin patch, and use of their large and beautiful carriage room!

The party started at 2:00 so we arrived around 1:30 to set the room up and get everything ready. My mom and I stayed up late into the night the day before crafting, DIY-ing, and making my vision for her party come to life. Everything you see above came from Target, Dollar Tree, Party City, and Amazon (Details at bottom of post).

My sweet girl went right for the twizzlers as soon as I put her on the table for a picture.

The popcorn corn on the cobs were a huge hit! I was so glad because those are what took me the longest to make! Everything below are all ideas I found on Pinterest!
  • Popcorn Corn on the Cob
  • Licorice Lasso's
  • Suckers in a Haystack
  • 'Pitchforks and Shovels' Utensils
  • Color Combination
  • Cow Tails and Root Beer Barrels
  • Dairy Jars for Milk and Cider
  • Popcorn Kernel Sunflower Centerpieces
  • Pig Nose Pink Cups

As soon as everybody arrived, we got a tour of the farm and all of the kids got to pet the animals. They even got to brush the horses and milk a goat! There is a neat water pump where you can race little rubber ducks and that kept all of the kids busy while the adults set up lunch and when it was time to clean up.

After the tour, my mom, Chris, and I set up lunch in our room while all of the kids went on pony rides right outside. The belly laughs, the smiles, and seeing the happiness on all of in in laws faces watching their kids have a ball made me feel even more certain we picked a perfect venue for Savannah's birthday.

After a lunch of subs, potato salad, watermelon, and chips, we all took a horse drawn hay ride to the sunflower field! It was gorgeous and everything you would think it would be. It was a photographers paradise and I WISH I made someone take a family picture of us! I was too busy enjoying the moment, and snapping shots of family and friends who made her day special #worthit.

If you look in this picture, you can see a little bumble bee pollinating the sunflower. #Savethebees

After the horse drawn hayride,

My mother OUTDID herself with the cupcakes! She stayed up two days before baking, frosting, planning, detailing, and making these perfect farm animal cupcakes. I'm never going to order from a bakery again! Crossing my fingers she will do Shannon's cupcakes for her birthday too!

She even made Savannah a small barn cake we could put candles in when we sang Happy Birthday to her.

Every time she blows out her candles she looks at me and says "MO PLEEESE!" So of course we light them up one more time, sing to her a second and third time, and let her blow them out again. I guess that means she got three wishes on her birthday. Hopefully at least one of them comes true for our sweet girl. We cannot thank everybody enough for making the drive out to the farm for her party. It was a day filled with everything happy!
