VTech Touch and Learn Activity Desk Review

A couple of months back, I received a message from VTech asking me if I would be interested in receiving a product from them to review it. Of course it was an immediate "yes." I was asked how old the girls were because they wanted to make sure to send an age appropriate toy that both of the girls would enjoy playing with. I thought that it was very nice that they kept that in mind.

About a month later, we received a (pink!) VTech Touch and Learn Activity Desk along with the Touch and Learn Activity Expansion Pack!
The expansion pack comes with an insert that goes in the desk in order for you to use the activity sheets included with the preschool expansion pack.  The desk is 3-in-1 which is awesome because it converts from an interactive desktop, to and easel, and even into a chalkboard. There is also a ton of storage space under either and on the side.

Hubby and I decided to give it to the girls for a special occasion. So that is just what we did. We set it up for the girls on St. Patrick’s Day and placed it right in their playroom. Even though our playroom has a rug, the desk came with pads you can stick to the bottom of the stool feet and desk feet to prevent it from sliding all over the floor or to prevent the girls from falling.

Everything pops in and out super easily, aka, the girls can do everything themselves. The insert from the expansion pack has a little face on it too. It does not get much cuter than that folks. Here are some snaps of our Savannah girl playing at the desk and fully enjoying it!

This girl absolutely loves playing with this desk! I mean look at her!

Reason 48395 I love this desk is because if the girls get it sticky, cover it in crumbs, or decide to spill juice on it, the desk easily wipes clean.

Did I mention it entertains the girls long enough for me to throw in a load of laundry or prep dinner?

If you are looking for a great and super inexpensive gift for a child between 18ish months and 5ish years, this is it. Ours is pink, yes, but it also comes in gender neutral colors as well. We are just pink lovers in our house!

Other than being aesthetically pleasing for all, the activities that the desk features are educational and appropriate for early learners like my kiddos! The vocabulary, learning activities, and songs encourage the girls to interact which is super engaging. (Again, mom can get stuff done!)  From the minute I took it out of the box, I was immediately able to see how it would help Shannon with the skills she needs in order to be successful in preschool and ready for kindergarten. Crossing my fingers it will do the same for Savannah!

Hopefully I can get some snaps of miss Shannon playing at the desk very soon, but I was too excited to not share this super exciting toy with all of you!

Go check it out! You can find it in (most) stores and it is almost eveywhere online!

VTech has always been one of our favorite brands. Nothing but smiles here my friends!

Easter Basket Stuffers

Easter is in a little over two weeks and I am doing my best to get the girls baskets done a little earlier this year so I am not scrambling at the last minute. Amazon, Marshalls, and Target have definitely been my go-to places when I am looking for fun stuffers. If you are looking for some last minute Easter basket stuffer ideas I have so many to share with you!

For my girls, I always get them peanut butter smidgeons, a (small) chocolate bunny, something for outside, something crafty, a new doll or plush, and one or two small toys or toy sets. I always feel like when I start shopping for Easter baskets its always difficult for me to only choose a couple of things because I stumble upon so many different things that I think the girls would love. Shannon's "big" Easter basket gift this year is a beautiful porcelain play tea set with flowers, and Savannah is getting the sweetest breakfast serving play set. I am so excited to see their faces when they wake up Easter morning.

Here are ideas for little girls, toddler girls, ideas for boys, and even some for babies. If you are doing some last minute shopping for Easter baskets and are having trouble thinking of what to get these are some fun and inexpensive ideas! Everything pictured below can be bought on Amazon or Target's website but I will link everything to make life a little easier!

Life Lately

I cannot believe it is (almost) already springtime. Just two weeks from now it is officially Spring which means I need to get my booty in gear for Easter. It is just a short two weeks after St. Patrick’s Day.  I have picked a few things up here and there for the girls baskets but are stil a few things that I need to buy before I feel like their baskets are ‘complete.’

We finally finished decorating our house and our shelves for St. Patrick’s Day. It looks like a little leprechaun land and the girls love it. I love any excuse to make the house look festive! Give us all the holidays ((even the sappy Hallmark ones))! It’s an excuse to eat off of festive paper goods, buy all the garlands, and watch festive movies! I just introduced the girls to “Darby O’Gill and the Little People.” I don’t think they can quite wrap their head around it yet, but Shannon loves the part with the leprechauns and it’s nice to just have on in the background. I love bringing all of these old movies back out that I used to watch during my childhood!

Look at my previous post for some great St. Patrick's Day reads! These are ours.
The stacking rainbow is from Flora and Peg

This rainbow tassel banner I ordered off of Amazon thinking that it would arrive already complete. Well, i guess I had ordered the 'kit' instead of the completed banner. To my surprise it was actually pretty easy to make.

I think it turned out quite nicely!

This is such a funky time of year because everything Spring is out in the stores, and all over social media. Sadly, when you look outside all you see is a blanket of snow, cloudy skies, and leafless trees.
I'll blame the groundhog. Regardless, in just two weeks it will be officially Spring so at least we will finally be able to say it is no longer winter even though it may not feel like it.

The girls have been such helpers when we go to the store. Just a year ago it was absolute misery bringing a seven month old, and a three year old to a grocery store, especially in the yucky weather. I cannot believe that just one year later they are riding the big car cart, sharing snacks, and are easily entertained by one another while I shop for what we need! I almost always reward them with a balloon on our way out because 1. They're free, and 2. They love playing with them at home.

We are already halfway through the week. Hubby and I are going on a date tonight. We started doing this very neat thing where the girls go to my moms house Wednesday evening. They spend the night, stay with her all day Thursday while I go to my grad class, and then Thursday evening we pick them up. My mom even decided to come up with this idea so that hubby and I could have a date night (almost) every Wednesday! What is fantastic is that we have tried so many new restaurants downtown. Tonight we are going to Sea Bar and I am dying to try their oysters! I am sure I will be posting the night away in my Instagram stories so if you want to see me unattractively inhale oysters, feel free to follow my story.

I hope you are all having a wonderful week! Stay warm and remember, Spring is closer than you think!

St. Patrick’s Day Must Reads

Saint Patrick's Day is right around the corner and I just ordered the most festive picture books for the girls. The girls love when I deck out their playroom shelves with festive books, banners and signs. I did not order all of these books but I did order eight that I thought the girls would really enjoy. The best part is every single one of these books can be found on Amazon and most are Prime which is perfect because you can still place an order and receive them before St. Patrick's Day.
From this group of books, I ordered:
The Story of the Leprechaun
Too Many Leprechauns
From this group of books, I ordered:
Tim O'Toole and the Wee Folk
That's What Leprechauns Do
How to Catch a Leprechaun
The Luckiest St. Patrick's Day Ever

From this group of books, I ordered:
Jamie O'Rourke and the Big Potato
St. Patrick's Day

i am excited to read these new books to the babes. I am hoping that they learn something from them too even though they are all fiction. As they get older, it is so neat watching them associate different symbols and traditions with different holidays.
