Happy July and happy Monday! We have been so busy around here and so many new and exciting things are in our near future. First and foremost, we are moving! We are not moving too far, but where we are moving is definitely an upgrade from where we are now. I am super excited that we are moving our little family into the Elmwood Village. There are so many cute shops, restaurants, boutiques, candy stores, and frozen yogurt stops! We love our new home and we love the area. We even already met some neighbors and the street is filled with kids so the girls can play. During the month of July and August my dad said he would help Chris and I paint the whole house. We have the most beautiful dining room bay window seat, built ins on both sides of the fireplace, and a yard that is too pretty for words. Between Pinterest and looking through magazines for inspiration I have a vision of what I want it to look like when we are all moved in and the house is painted and finished. I am dreading packing and the actual move itself but I just have to keep in mind that it is short lived and we will be so happy with the final product. As you can see, the girls are pleased as punch and love their new house. Shannon even told us she could not wait to share a room with her sissy!
This was one of the signs outside of a gift boutique in the village. We saw it the day we took the girls picture in front of the house and it was (literally) a sign that this was meant to be.
That's definitely the biggest news of the week and we feel like we are kicking off summer just right. The girls are never in shoes, are always wearing sunscreen and you can usually see them walking around with a wedge of watermelon. I bought a small seedless watermelon at the store and I regret not buying a bigger one. We devoured this in two days.
On really hot days I will take the girls to my moms to swim in their big blow up pool. I put my bathing suit on and get in with them because it is just too dang hot to do anything else except cool our bodies. Oh and eat popsicles. Lots and lots of popsicles.
How sweet is this towel from Target. It says life of the party and these two are indeed the life of the party.
In that same Target trip, I loaded our cart up with everything red white and blue from the dollar spot. I swear anytime I go in there that spot gets me every time! I always find the most perfect festive things for my kitchen shelves and the girls book shelves.
I amazon primed some patriotic reads for the girls too. They love when I make their wall bookshelf all festive for each holiday..
How cute is this drink set up I threw together on a whim? Its so perfect for when we have company over.
Lastly, Shannon finished her first year of preschool which is the final piece of big news I have for the month of June! I made all of the kids in her class little summer treat bags with water balloons, dum dum suckers and bubbles. We celebrated with ice cream at our favorite little ice cream shop. As much as we have been enjoying summer vacation, she keeps asking me when school starts again because she misses all of her friends. It is the sweetest thing.
So far our summer has been filled with ice cream, lots of swimming, popsicles, zoo trips, and picnics. We (I) made a bucket list of things I hope we can do with the girls between now and when school starts again. Hoping to get everything crossed off of my list, but if not, there is always next year right? I hope all of you are having a wonderful summer and are doing all things summery with your favorite people!
